Draughtsman – Springs, Gauteng
Job Description
RPO Recruitment is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Draughtsman to join our client’s engineering team in Springs, Gauteng. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically proficient professional to work on cutting-edge ventilation system designs in a fast-paced, model-driven environment. Responsibilities
- Create precise and efficient General Arrangement (GA) drawings for tender purposes, with a focus on above-ground fan ventilation systems
- Conduct on-site measurements both above and underground to ensure drawing accuracy
- Develop draughting content based solely on 3D modelling (approximately 95% model-driven work)
- Ensure all drawings are dimensionally accurate without manual dimensions or notes
- Collaborate closely with engineering and project teams to meet tight deadlines
- Maintain organized documentation and version control of all drawings and models
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain professional conduct during site visits
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in draughting and 3D modelling
- Red Seal certification and at least 5 years of working experience as a Red Seal artisan (non-negotiable)
- Proficient in SolidWorks (no other CAD platforms considered)
- Own transport and willingness to travel for site measurements
- Strong understanding of mechanical components and industrial ventilation systems
- Ability to work independently, accurately, and under pressure
- Draughting qualifications are not essential – practical experience is key
- Residing in or near Irene / Pretoria / Centurion is advantageous
