Our client is seeking a skilled and highly motivated individual to join their team as a Dispatch Manager. The Dispatch Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of their dispatch department, ensuring efficient coordination of dispatch activities and timely delivery of products/services to their customers. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as a strong understanding of logistics and transportation management.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute distribution strategies across six Inland Region branches
  • Optimize fleet and courier operations to support sales goals and ensure excellent customer service.
  • Manage a fleet of 54 vehicles, ensuring high utilization, safety, and cost-efficiency through effective scheduling, routing, and maintenance.
  • Track fleet performance (e.g., fuel efficiency, vehicle condition) to control costs and ensure vehicle availability.
  • Work with the business on a sustainable vehicle replacement plan.
  • Manage courier partner relationships to secure competitive rates and high service quality.
  • Negotiate service agreements and resolve issues with couriers to meet customer demands.
  • Evaluate courier performance and implement improvements for better delivery speed and cost-efficiency.
  • Collaborate with sales to align distribution with customer needs and sales targets, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate delivery schedules and special requests with sales to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
  • Address service failures quickly and work with sales to resolve issues and maintain customer relationships.
  • Control distribution costs within budget while maintaining service quality.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives to improve fleet and courier operations.
  • Prepare reports on distribution costs, fleet utilization, and courier expenses.
  • Ensure timely, accurate deliveries to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Resolve delivery issues promptly, working with teams to maintain customer trust.
  • Adjust delivery schedules and methods to meet seasonal or special customer needs.
  • Ensure fleet operations comply with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Promote health and safety practices within the distribution team.
  • Manage risks to minimize disruptions and protect company assets.
  • Drive continuous improvement in fleet and courier operations using new technologies and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5-7 years of experience in fleet or distribution management, ideally in last-mile delivery.
  • Strong leadership experience managing a multi-branch team and driving performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent skills in operational oversight, cost control, and budget management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with sales to support customer satisfaction and operational goals.
  • Strong communication skills with experience building relationships across sales, distribution, and courier teams.
  • Skilled in data analysis and decision-making, with a proactive approach to solving logistical challenges.
