Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Discipline Lead to head the Mechanical Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in engineering design, project delivery, and quality control. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability, along with strong client engagement skills and the capacity to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

Role Overview

Key focus areas include:

  • Designing building services using relevant software within the mechanical engineering discipline.

  • Coordinating multidisciplinary engineering services.

  • Preparing and reviewing design and construction documentation, including data analysis, drawings, and client reports.

  • Monitoring construction and performing audits, including compliance inspections, construction payment measurements, certificates, factory/site acceptance tests, and commissioning.

  • Implementing and managing quality assurance and quality control procedures on projects.

  • Managing projects to meet quality, time, and cost requirements.

  • Providing leadership and line management to the mechanical engineering team.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate should have the following qualifications and experience:

  • A Mechanical Engineering qualification (minimum BTech; BSc/BEng preferred). A Master’s degree will be advantageous.

  • Professional registration with ECSA, with 8+ years’ post-registration experience in mechanical engineering within the building services sector (HVAC and wet services).

  • Optional but advantageous experience in one or more of the following: fire protection, vertical transportation, refrigeration, piped gas services (medical gases/LPG), building management systems, industrial mechanical engineering (e.g., water/wastewater plants), or project management.

  • Strong knowledge and application of local and international standards, legislation, and project safety requirements.

  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

  • A valid driver’s license.
