Digital Coordinator
Job Description
The Digital Coordinator will play a key support role within Dermalogica South Africa’s Digital Hub, working across ecommerce operations, digital content, customer service, and light development tasks. This junior role will ensure seamless day-to-day execution by handling website updates, retailer content checks, and first-line customer queries, while also assisting with technical troubleshooting, minor front-end updates, and QA testing.
This position is ideal for someone detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to grow into either ecommerce management or front-end development within a fast-paced digital team.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Respond to customer queries via email, chat, or other digital platforms in a professional and brand-aligned manner.
- Support resolution of order, delivery, and product enquiries in collaboration with logistics and operations teams.
- Monitor customer feedback and escalate recurring issues to the Digital & Ecommerce Manager.
Website & Ecommerce Support
- Upload and update product listings, promotional banners, and campaign assets on the Shopify website.
- Assist with merchandising updates, ensuring accuracy of product categorisation, pricing, and promotions.
- Perform QA testing for new site updates, CRO experiments, or campaign launches.
- Support execution of onsite content (landing pages, PDP enhancements, promotional mechanics).
Retailer & 3PI Support
- Coordinate digital content (banners, copy, imagery) for retail partners.
- Conduct regular QA checks on retailer websites and 3PI platforms to ensure Dermalogica content is up-to-date, consistent, and brand-compliant.
- Report issues or opportunities for improvement to the Digital & Ecommerce Manager.
Junior Development Support
- Assist with light front-end coding tasks (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) under the guidance of the Head of Digital.
- Make small theme adjustments or styling changes within Shopify 2.0.
- Troubleshoot and escalate bugs, layout issues, or app conflicts.
- Support integrations of third-party apps and testing of new features.
- Learn and adopt best practices in responsive design and accessibility.
Digital Marketing & Content Support
- Assist in preparing content for email marketing campaigns, social assets, and retailer newsletters.
- Support with compiling digital content libraries for internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate and upload assets for CRM flows, working with the Digital Content & CRM Coordinator.
General Digital Admin
- Maintain filing systems for digital assets and campaign materials.
- Support reporting by pulling data from Shopify, Klaviyo, and other platforms when required.
- Provide ad-hoc assistance across the digital team during peak periods (launches, promotions, events).
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Marketing, Digital Media, IT, or related field (preferred).
- 1–2 years’ experience in ecommerce, digital marketing, or online customer service.
- Basic front-end development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript); familiarity with Shopify or another CMS is a plus.
- Exposure to Shopify theme editing, Liquid, or app integrations advantageous.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Klaviyo) and Google Analytics desirable.
- Strong computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
