Purpose of role:
The DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and automation pipelines that support the development, deployment, and monitoring of software and data solutions. This role is critical in enabling continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), improving system reliability, and ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient operations across the engineering and data science teams.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for software and data products.
  • Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Define and enforce Git branching strategies and deployment workflows.
  • Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and ML engineers to streamline deployments.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security using observability tools.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Support containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Ensure compliance with security and governance standards.
  • Participate in incident response and root cause analysis.
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing across teams.

Required experience:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or related role.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack). Exposure to data engineering or ML deployment environments is a plus.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) or DevOps tools are advantageous.
  • Relevant training or certification in CI/CD, AWS ECS, or infrastructure automation is a plus.
