Data Engineer – Azure and Fabric

An IT solutions company dedicated to transforming data into actionable insights that drive business decisions is looking for a talented data engineer to join its dynamic team and play a pivotal role in leveraging cutting-edge technologies to optimise data processes.

Responsibilities:

• Data analysis: Analyse and interpret complex datasets using statistical methods to uncover valuable insights and trends.
• Data mining: Utilise machine learning techniques to discover patterns in large datasets, enhancing data-driven strategies.
• Data visualisation: Create impactful visualisations and dashboards that effectively communicate data insights to stakeholders.
• Data cleaning: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data by cleaning and preprocessing datasets.
• Data modelling: Build and test predictive models to forecast future trends and outcomes, supporting strategic decision-making.
• Reporting: Develop comprehensive reports and presentations that summarise findings and actionable recommendations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with data science team members and other departments to identify business problems and collaboratively develop innovative solutions.
• Programming: Write scripts and code in SQL to automate data analysis processes and streamline workflows.

Qualifications and experience:

• National diploma in information technology or bachelor’s degree
• Proven experience as a data engineer, with a focus on Azure and Fabric (three-plus years)
• Relevant certifications in Azure and data engineering
• Strong proficiency in data analysis, data mining, and statistical methods
• Experience with data visualisation tools and techniques
• Solid understanding of data cleaning and preprocessing methodologies
• Familiarity with predictive modelling and forecasting techniques
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with automating data workflows

Reference number for this position is NG59795. This is a permanent hybrid position based in Midrand, Johannesburg, offering a cost to company of R550,000 up to R850,000 per annum, salary negotiable based on experience.
