Contracts Manager
Job Description
A leading electrical infrastructure projects company is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager with strong experience in contracts management (NEC, FIDIC), tendering, procurement, and project execution within power stations and substations. This role is based in Kew, Johannesburg, with significant travel required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex electrical and instrumentation projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:

Manage and execute electrical engineering and infrastructure projects successfully.

Oversee contract planning, including labour, materials, transport, scheduling, and logistics.

Implement cost control processes including budgets, forecasts, claims, and invoicing.

Provide accurate and timely reporting on progress, incidents, and contract reviews.

Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality assurance requirements and company policies.

Liaise effectively with clients, attending meetings and responding to queries.

Manage legal obligations, including claims formulation and negotiation, and OHS Act appointments.

Maintain administrative and management records, including manpower, equipment, and grievances.

Oversee procurement, expediting, and quality control of materials.
Requirements:

Recognised tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering (T4 or equivalent).

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the electrical and instrumentation industry, with at least 5 years in a Site Manager or Contracts Manager role.

Project management experience with strong knowledge of contracts (NEC, FIDIC).

Working knowledge of OHS Act legislation (advantageous).

Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Project, or Primavera P6.

Training in safety, quality assurance (ISO 9001), and financial management.

Strong communication, leadership, and business acumen.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
