Commercial Credit and Business Manager
Job Description
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Commercial Credit and Business Manager to oversee the strategic management of our consumer finance products. This role integrates responsibilities from credit analysis, product management, and business management, ensuring the successful launch and optimisation of financial products across our retail network.
Key Responsibilities:
– Credit Analysis and Risk Management
– Conduct comprehensive quantitative and qualitative assessments of financial strength for B2C and B2B clients.
– Manage lending limits, credit reviews, and approvals to align with company risk appetite.
– Identify and mitigate transaction-specific risks including credit, taxation, accounting, and legal aspects.
– Document findings and report to the credit committee, maintaining objectivity in presenting risk evaluations.
Product Management
– Lead end-to-end project management for the launch, development, and ongoing optimization of consumer finance products.
– Develop strategic plans for product scale-up, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
– Collaborate with marketing, sales, credit, and training teams to ensure seamless product execution.
– Analyze market trends and customer feedback to enhance product value and identify new market opportunities.
– Manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to achieve project goals.
Business Management
– Act as a liaison between the CFO and other stakeholders, supporting strategic initiatives.
– Coordinate data reporting needs for Exco and board reports, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
– Oversee strategic projects aligned with the company roadmap, managing budgets and timelines effectively.
– Prepare documentation and presentations for internal and external audiences to facilitate decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience:
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; CA (SA)/CFA or similar preferred. An MBA is strongly preferred.
– Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in credit risk analysis, product management, or business management within a corporate environment.
– Proven experience in launching, managing, and optimizing consumer finance products.
– Strong understanding of governance frameworks, financial analysis, and project management methodologies.
