Today, the Weylandts Group encompasses multiple business divisions, including:
- Weylandts Retail
- Weylandts Studio (interior design services)
- Weylandts Hospitality
- Weylandts Business to Business (B2B)
- Weylandts Property
The Chief Growth Officer will be the driving force across all above divisions, ensuring that each area contributes meaningfully to the company’s growth trajectory while working cohesively as one brand.
Role overview:
The Chief Growth Officer is a senior executive leadership role with full accountability for critically immersing themselves in the Brand Pillar visions and ethos, using this framework to identify business opportunities and initiatives and to develop practical executions to grow revenue, market share, customer engagement and strengthen the Brand in each facet across all the Weylandts Group divisions. This individual will have a 360-degree view of the entire business, ensuring that every Group company and/or division operates with a clear growth plan, measurable KPIs, and aligned budgets.
This role requires a strategic, entrepreneurial leader, with a demonstrated track record in scaling businesses, who can expand Weylandts’ footprint locally and internationally. The Chief Growth Officer must ensure that existing business unit strategies are optimised to participate in current markets to a greater extent, identify new revenue opportunities, and ensure the company is positioned for scalable, sustainable growth.
As a member of EXCO, the Chief Growth Officer will be a core decision maker, reporting directly to the CEO, and working closely with the Director of Strategic Growth and Brand Development.
Key responsibilities:
Strategic growth accountabilities
- Define and execute the group-wide growth strategy across all group companies and/ or divisions (Retail, Studio, Hospitality, B2B, Property).
- Develop and own growth KPIs and revenue and cost budgets for each division, ensuring clear accountability and measurable outcomes.
- Responsible for ensuring that National Retail delivers on its Revenue Metrics and KPIs per location, working with the National Retail Operations Manager, to ensure that the strategies are communicated and actioned within National Retail.
- Identify and pursue new revenue streams, including export opportunities, possible international retail expansion or visibility and market participation options, and global partnerships with designers, decorators, other elite luxury Brand offerings where synergies to collaborate exist with those stores, either through production or wholesale initiatives.
- Partner with the CEO and EXCO to shape long-term strategic direction for the company with a focus on delivering sustainable revenues in each facet of the Brands offerings.
Division Leadership
- Retail: Drive national sales, profitability, and operational excellence across all stores. Ensure a performance-driven culture and deliver exceptional customer experiences. Direct Management of the National Retail Operations Manager, and dotted line over-sight of Retail Managers.
- Studio: Develop strategies to attract more clients, refine marketing and positioning, and partner with Marketing to grow brand awareness of the design offering. Dotted line engagement with Studio Manager and Director of Strategic Growth and Brand Development.
- Hospitality & B2B: Build a pipeline of projects, grow relationships with key industry players, and ensure operational delivery supports business development goals. Direct Management of the B2B Manager, and dotted line Management into Hospitality Project Management office.
- Property: Oversee strategic growth plans, ensuring that property investments and developments contribute to the broader brand and business strategy. Dotted line engagement with the Director of Strategic Growth and Brand Development.
Marketing & Brand Growth
- Working with the CEO, and the Director of Strategic Growth and Brand Development, conceptualise and detail the specific marketing briefs that will be issued into the internal Marketing team to develop targeted campaigns, specific to those briefs to support growth initiatives.
- Position Weylandts Studio offerings as market-leading solutions for clients and businesses in South Africa and beyond
- Ensure that Hospitality is positioned globally in such a manner that the correct price point and sustainable occupancies are delivered to all hospitality options.
- Provide guidance and briefing to with the Marketing division on international brand positioning, building Weylandts’ global presence.
People & Performance Leadership
- Be a critical contributing member of the Weylandts Group Core Leadership team.
- Be a Brand Ambassador, promoting brand pillars through each internal and external engagement.
- Direct Leadership and guidance of the National Retail Operations Manager
- Direct Leadership and guidance of the Business 2 Business Manager
- Indirect (Dotted Line) Leadership and Guidance to Retail Managers, Studio Lead, Hospitality Lead and the Property team to deliver on growth strategies.
- Foster a high-performance culture with a clear link between strategy, execution, and results.
- Coach, mentor, and develop leaders across the business to ensure succession strength and aligned vision.
Operational Excellence & Innovation
- Monitor and optimise and report on performance across divisions, ensuring processes, structures, and teams are aligned to deliver growth.
- Champion innovation in customer experience, sales channels, and product/service delivery.
- Ensure budgets, forecasts, and operational execution are disciplined and data-driven.
What you bring:
- A business-related degree is required; further qualifications in strategy, business leadership, or international trade are advantageous.
- Minimum 12–15 years’ experience in senior leadership roles across multi-division or diversified businesses, ideally within premium, design-led, or customer-focused industries.
- Demonstrated track record of driving growth strategies across multiple revenue streams, including retail and B2B.
- Strong background in international trade, exports, or building global partnerships an advantage.
- Proven ability to lead leaders—experience managing multiple business units with P&L accountability.
- Highly commercial, analytical, and strategic thinker who thrives on identifying new opportunities.
- Comfortable working closely with executive leadership and influencing at board/EXCO level.
