Business Development Representative
PURPOSE OF ROLE
Instrumental in driving company growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. Primary responsibility will be to generate leads, build relationships with potential clients, convert them into customers. Work closely Branch Manager, Sales Executive and GM to help expand our market presence and achieve revenue and GP goals in Western Cape, Northen region of North Cape down to Mosselbay.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead Generation: Identify and research potential leads through various channels including social media, industry events, networking and canvassing businesses in Western Cape
- Outbound Outreach: Conduct outreach to prospects via phone, email, and social media to introduce our products/services and schedule meetings to explore
- Lead Qualification: Engage with potential leads to understand their needs, qualify their interest, and determine their fit with our offerings.
- CRM Management: Maintain accurate records of interactions with prospects and update the SKYNAMO system with relevant information about leads and their status.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to align on lead generation strategies, share insights, and contribute to the development of targeted outreach campaigns.
- Performance Tracking: Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly targets for lead generation, prospect / customer conversion, sales and GP targets
Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to effectively communicate the value of our solutions to enhance the customer experience.

PROCESS BASIC EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Formal schooling/ degree:
- Matric
- Diploma in business administration, finance(advantageous)
Experience:
- 5+ in an equivalent and similar role in a distribution environment
- Computer literate – Specifically Excel as well as Word, MS Office & Outlook,
- SYSPRO experience advantageous
- Business acumen
