Position              : Brand Manager

Location             : Cape Town / JHB

Reporting to      : Marketing Manager

 

Purpose of the Role

To develop the brand in South Africa through optimum use of the A&P investment tools; ensuring a 360̊ approach to all marketing strategies, ultimately growing market share and brand image in South Africa.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Performance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute brand strategies that align with commercial goals
  • Lead budgeting and business forecasting processes for your category
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, sales data, and competitor activity
  • Act as both planner and buyer, managing end-to-end product lifecycle
  • Collaborate with sales, supply chain, and creative teams to ensure seamless execution
  • Deliver impactful marketing campaigns that drive consumer engagement and conversion
  • Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and product development
  • Proven experience in a Brand Manager or Category Manager role
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to forecast and manage budgets
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities
  • Experience in planning and buying functions is highly advantageous
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Work with a passionate, collaborative team in a growing business
  • Take ownership of exciting local and international brands

Stakeholder engagement and management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders to ensure full support of the brand in the market
  • Work with all stakeholders to gain maximum exposure for the brand
  • Co-ordination and implementation of PR activity

Budget and Financial Management

  • Management of marketing budget
  • Management and analysis of A&P spend to ensure effective usage thereof and ensuring a ROI and brand profitability                                    
  • Ensuring achievement of wholesale budgets across all retailers

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Business/Marketing degree

5 years relevant experience in the cosmetics industry
