Job Description:

Role Overview:

The Assistant Marketing Manager plays a vital role in supporting the Senior Marketing Manager
with building the presence and foot print of DJI (Drone, Action Camera & Gimbal Technology),
reLoved (Pre-Owned iPhones) and InRetail (Concession Retail Model) in country. You will be
responsible for creating, overseeing and executing marketing campaigns across multiple brands,
ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives. This role requires a strong
understanding of brand management, digital marketing, event planning, customer
relationship/value management (CRM & CVM ), and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy & Budgets:

 Assist in the development and execution of quarterly and annual marketing plans and
budgets aligned with business objectives.  
 Ensure brand consistency across all marketing initiatives, adhering to DJI and Apple
guidelines.  
 Monitor and optimize marketing spend to ensure efficiency and maximize ROI.  
 Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure campaign effectiveness
and identify areas for improvement.  
 Prepare and present weekly, monthly and quarterly Proof of Action reports on marketing
activities and performance.  

Events, Training & Brand Updates:

 Strategize, plan, and execute events for new product releases, training, customer
engagement, and brand awareness.  
 Evaluate and participate in 3 rd party events relevant to the brand.  
 Ensure timely dissemination of brand news and information to relevant teams (marketing,
sales, store, FME).  

 Manage promotional materials and marketing stock, including pre-sell allocation and order
management.  

Social Media & Education/Engagement Platforms:

 Develop and implement social media strategies in collaboration with the Social Media
Marketing Coordinator.  
 Manage social media content and digital marketing plans to ensure alignment with overall
marketing strategy.  
 Monitor social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok etc) and ensure
content is created and published according to schedule.  
 Develop engagement strategies for DJI, reLoved, and InRetail platforms.  
 Track and analyse social media metrics to measure growth, engagement in accordance
with Business Unit objectives.

Customer Relationship & Value Management:

 Develop and implement CRM and CVM strategies to nurture leads, improve customer
retention, and drive customer lifetime value.  
 Manage customer database and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (POPIA).
 
 Create and execute targeted email, SMS, and WhatsApp marketing campaigns.  
 Track and analyse CRM and CVM campaign performance metrics (open rates, click-
through rates, conversion rates, etc.).  
 Collaborate with the wider marketing team to map the customer journey and identify key
touchpoints for CRM interventions.  

Online Store:

 Manage and maintain the online store, ensuring it is up-to-date with the latest products,
services, and promotions.  
 Continuously improve the online store’s user experience (UX) and implement
enhancements to drive traffic and conversions.  
 Monitor and analyse online store performance metrics (traffic, conversion rates, customer
acquisition, etc.).  
 Manage product listings in collaboration with Sales and E-Commerce teams and ensure
standardization across all platforms.  

 Maintain and update online store policies and processes in accordance with legislation.  

Wholesale/Retail:

 Plan and execute marketing initiatives with key retail partners.  
 Build and maintain strong relationships with retail partners.  
 Secure activations and demos to support new product releases.  
 Ensure brand consistency and accurate representation in co-op marketing materials.  

Content Management:

 Ensure all marketing content is free of defamatory, offensive, or discriminatory content.  
 Promote diversity and inclusion in all content creation and influencer/ambassador selection.
 
 Adhere to company policies on confidentiality, data protection, and copyright laws.  

Crisis Management:

 Flag and escalate any PR or social media related concerns promptly.  
 Work towards a timely resolution of PR challenges with minimal brand damage.  

Financial Management:

 Manage marketing spend within the allocated budget.
 Raise requisitions and PO’s in accordance with relevant BU needs.
 Ensure cost-effective procurement of marketing services.  
 Reconcile actual spend against planned budget on a monthly basis.  

Customer Service:

 Collaborate with the Sales Team and Social Media Marketing Coordinator and ensure that
customer service standards are met and responses are within SLA.

Qualifications and Experience:

 Undergraduate Marketing qualification coupled with an Honours Degree.  
 4+ years of experience in a Marketing role within Agency, Distributor or FMCG

 Strong business acumen and understanding of marketing principles.
