Artisan Boilermaker

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To perform day-to-day boilermaker activities as specified according to special procedures and requirements.

QUALIFICATION(S) & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Matric/N3 Maths & Science passed
• Boilermaker Trade Test

Experience:

• 3 years post trade test in a similar work environment
• Knowledge of safety, good housekeeping according to relevant procedure
• Experience in implementation of safety regulations in order to meet legal requirements
• Able to work independently
• Must have experience in Fabrication Workshop

Ideal Requirements:

Qualifications: (Same as minimum plus the following)

• National Diploma

Training:

• Relevant registered skills programs or unit standards successfully completed

Experience:

• 5 years post trade test, relevant to the trade

HEADLINE KEY RESULT AREAS:

• Identify and use measuring, checking, forming, cutting, marking and fastening tools
• Maintain measuring, checking, forming, cutting, marking and fastening tools
• Use fixed and portable drilling machines
• Replace set and ring grinding wheels
• Operate pneumatic and electrical power tools
• Use hand operated presses, hydraulic jacks and staging blocks
• Communication and Engagement of Stakeholders
• Ensure applicable documentation is completed when doing jobs in certain areas (work orders, clearances etc.)
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying potential improvements
• Adhere to SHE standards for safety purposes
• Perform standby duties as per standby roster and when required
• Perform shift duties and working at heights as and when required
