What you’ll do
As an Application Manager, you’ll provide technical oversight and governance for key applications within the organisation’s SAFe (Scaled Agile) structure. You’ll manage technical staff across self-coordinating squads, ensure applications are developed and maintained to the highest standards, and partner closely with business and product leaders to align technology with strategic goals.
Key responsibilities include:

Overseeing technical deliverables and ensuring effective collaboration across squads.

Acting as Epic Owner for major technology initiatives.

Defining release strategies for large-scale technology changes.

Driving early prioritisation of technology backlogs with IT leadership and other key stakeholders.

Leading technical strategy, compliance, and IT reporting.

Managing budgets, controls, and ownership of enterprise applications (including legacy systems).
What will make you successful

Proven ability to collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, and Release Train Engineers to deliver high-value technical solutions.

Strong background in application architecture, DevSecOps practices, and modern engineering methods.

Ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical outcomes, influencing stakeholders and building strong partnerships.

Confidence in managing PI Planning, prioritisation, and technical reporting.
What you’ll bring
-
A relevant post-matric qualification in Information Systems or Engineering.

10+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in managing software development and support teams.

Enterprise application ownership experience (legacy system knowledge is advantageous).

Understanding of Scaled Agile, Lean Service Management, and modern application practices.

Deep knowledge of Microsoft and open systems technology.
