We’re looking for an analyst who gets a thrill out of combing through data, unearthing insights and sharing them with newsrooms to help drive audience engagement.

Who we’re looking for

We want an analyst who’ll use AI and analytics tools to gather meaningful insights for editorial and commercial products. You are…

 

  • A savvy data decoder: skilled at analysing and interpreting data to extract meaningful insights. You think critically about data and can assess its quality and reliability. You can determine patterns that may not be obvious to others. You understand digital media metrics, audience measurement and content performance analysis.
  • Audience inclined: you want to deeply understand audiences and have a strong understanding of audience segmentation and targeting.
  • A clever communicator: you take the insights you’ve gleaned and make it make sense for editorial, product, engineering and commercial teams. You create insightful and engaging reports and dashboards that can be used by non-technical users.
  • Technically talented: you have experience with using analytics platforms such as GA4 and data analysis tools (for example, Python, R or Excel) and visualisation software such as Tableau, Power BI or D3.js. You’re also constantly testing new AI options to improve your work.
  • Curious and clued-in: you’re constantly testing and experimenting – both with product and with tools. A/B testing is a given for you in the work you do.
  • Agile and a speed junkie: you can produce great work within tight deadlines, can cope with pressure and you can juggle multiple projects (in fact, you thrive on the thrill of tight deadlines!).
  • A collaborative spirit: you love working in a team, especially one that has diverse skills, talents and backgrounds. You’re skilled at working in and with cross-functional teams to integrate analytics into product development and audience acquisition strategies.

 

What we need from you

  • At least two years’ experience working in a newsroom or an organisation that analyses data and transforms it visually for commercial use.
  • A journalism or statistics-related degree or diploma.

 

What we’d love you to also have…

  • An understanding of statistical concepts and methodologies.
  • Database management experience.
  • Experience using AI tools in data analysis and audience insights.
