Accountant
Job Description
Responsibilities
-
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in line with relevant accounting standards.

Process journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end adjustments.

Compile and analyse financial reports to support management decision-making.
-
Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and resolution of queries.
-
Assist with budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis.

Support annual audit processes, liaising with external auditors where necessary.

Ensure compliance with tax legislation and statutory requirements, including submission of returns.
-
Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, processes, and controls.
Requirements
-
Completed SAIPA articles.
-
BCom degree in Accounting, Financial Accounting, or BCompt (Postgraduate qualification advantageous).

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar) and MS Excel.

Strong understanding of IFRS for SMEs and relevant tax legislation.

Excellent numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.
