Leading Architecture & Design, the internationally acclaimed B2B brand is looking for an experienced senior account executive to join its team. The ideal candidate should have publishing experience in both print media as well as digital media. The candidate must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team.

 

Job Specification:

  • Experience selling magazine advertising space (preferred)
  • Experience selling digital properties (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Own transport
  • Willingness to travel (when needed)
  • Strong proposal writing skills
  • Architecture & Construction Industry clients a bonus
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Understanding of Office365
  • Attend in-person and online meetings
  • A good knowledge of and interest in Architectural and Construction Industry
  • Social media experience

Specific responsibilities

  • Service predetermined client base with relevant offerings and solutions
  • Identify, generate new business opportunities on an ongoing basis to achieve predetermined sales targets
  • Prepare and present sales proposals and presentations to new and existing clients to negotiate and close deals, aimed at relevant client objectives
  • Create tailored solutions that meet the client’s short- and long-term needs
  • Build strategic working relationships with clients and maintain a high level of client contact (telephonic, email communication and face to face) to ensure that their specific requirements are addressed, to monitor and grow existing business
  • Provide professional and exceptional client service in all interactions with clients
  • Closely monitor competitors and maintain client database
  • Keep all administrative work updated including booking procedures
  • Report on sales opportunities and achievements as required (weekly and monthly)
  • Maintain a high level of relevant industry knowledge

 

Qualifications and experience

  • A recognised qualification in sales, journalism, copywriting, media or a similar relevant field
  • At least 3 years in ad sales
  • Experience in a similar position in a retail, publishing, brand or agency environment
  • A sound working knowledge of digital and social media channels, including bought media on social
  • An adaptable nature with a willingness to get involved in all aspects of the role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the willingness to be a team player
  • The ability to work under pressure and proactively deal with high-stress situations
