Job Description


Academic Development Practitioner 

  • An honours degree in Education, Engineering, or Built Environment discipline, or a relevant field.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in academic development, curriculum design, or teaching and learning support in a higher education environment.
  • Experience in facilitating workshops, training sessions, or academic support initiatives.
  • Knowledge of higher education policies, teaching methodologies, and assessment practices.
  • Proficiency in using learning management systems and digital teaching tools.

Summary of duties

  • Develop and implement academic development initiatives to enhance teaching and learning within the faculty.
  • Support staff with curriculum development, innovative teaching strategies, and assessment practices.
  • Coordinate and facilitate workshops, training, and mentorship programmes for academic staff.
  • Contribute to faculty-wide initiatives to enhance student success, retention, and progression.
  • Engage in research on academic development and teaching innovations.
  • Provide data-driven insights and reports on teaching and learning effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align academic development practices with institutional and national policies.
