Job description
Coordinate all the administrative elements for the 947 Programming Department including but not limited to reporting, invoices, listener queries and more.
Take full accountability for the role in responsibility by executing all specified functions within the role and adhering to processes, policies and procedures and always abiding by and upholding the company’s values.
Key outputs
- Assist in the planning and organisational management tasks around programming, content and creative with a large portfolio of shows and digital platforms.
- Coordinate planning, tracking, contracts, creative proofing, and execution & trafficking of various programming campaigns.
- Create, modify and maintain spreadsheets, and databases – and prepare reports.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation as well as outside vendors, agencies, talent representatives, etc.
- Work closely with the production department to create and execute programming campaigns.
- Liaise with local programming, operational and production teams to set up interviews, arrange studio time and assist with various production needs.
- Receives daily assignments from 947 Station Manager, Programme Manager and 947 Commercial Manager
- Monitors programming for content and technical quality control.
- May assist programme manager and producers with writing station sweepers, imaging, and promos.
- Oversee and perform general administrative duties (i.e., attendance registers, loading of competitions, invoicing, liaising with finance for payments) for the Programming Department through the adherence of Programming policies, processes and systems daily.
- Assist with the provision of feedback to listener enquiries and complaints that require a response from the business, by following up with the relevant internal stakeholders
- Promote and represent the station to the public and listeners in line with the Primedia Broadcasting values
- To be the programming department’s dedicated contact for internal queries
- Attend programming meetings and contribute ideas
- Coordinate content ideas for the radio station’s development with the programming team daily
- Coordinate all programming meetings and manage station management diary daily
- Ensure the day-to-day on-air rollout of programming promotions and events by adhering to station processes (as and when required)
- Compile instruction sheets and brief relevant stakeholders
- Work closely with the Programming Commercial Coordinator to make sure all admin around campaigns is complete
- Compile daily show logs
- To work with presenters and show producers to meet deadlines and capture appropriate data required for report submissions, CSI and Licensing reports
- To plan and work with the programming team to execute any CSI activity,
- Assist at station events and activations when required
- Play a support role to other members of the programming team as and when required
Educational qualifications
- Matric
- Media studies degree, diploma or equivalent
Required knowledge
- Two+ years’ experience in a project coordinator, project manager or media/administrative support role. Music programming-related experience at a satellite, traditional commercial, and/or college radio station would be advantageous.
- Must have strong organizational skills, and an ability to manage multiple integrated projects at one time.
- Solution-based thinking and problem-solving. Proactive
- Must be a strong communicator with a strong writing ability
- Experience with cross-platform media including audio, digital, social media, events and branded content a plus!
- Intense attention to detail and ability to beat deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility, as the role will evolve based on programming and content needs
- Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace experience required
