Our client is looking to employ a Technical Facilities Manager (EE Position)

POSITION

Technical Facilities Manager

LOCATION

Bellville, Cape Town

SALARY

R-Market Related

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and arrange work sequences and on-site applications.
  • Carry out repairs and renovations on interior and exterior surfaces, fixtures, and fittings.
  • Perform basic repairs in plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems within buildings.
  • Complete procedural, instructional, and transactional forms and documentation as required.
  • Conduct routine and scheduled property maintenance, including tasks like painting, tiling, gutter cleaning, and general repairs such as fixing doors and locks.
  • Document data related to fault diagnosis, corrective and preventive maintenance, and condition monitoring.
  • Handle general maintenance tasks.
  • Execute ad-hoc duties such as office relocations and vendor escorting.
  • Ensure daily completion and review of job cards.
  • Identify maintenance issues and provide regular written or verbal updates to the Line Manager.
  • Respond to emergency calls as instructed by the Employer or office staff.
  • Perform daily and weekly facility inspections and reporting.
  • Undertake standby duties when needed.
  • Oversee and manage Data Centre activities related to facility infrastructure, including power, HVAC health checks, and fire system maintenance.
  • Supervise and maintain domestic and fire water systems and repairs.
  • Assist or coordinate group facilities projects like office relocations, office fit-outs, and infrastructure installations.
  • Coordinate park maintenance, including parking and garden areas.
  • Monitor and manage critical plant and equipment for maintenance, including UPS systems, generators, lifts, and fire systems.
  • Conduct safety inductions for OHS contractors and perform file inspections Bottom of Form

REQUIREMENTS:

  • National Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical engineering
  • Formal certification in facilities management or plumbing (advantageous)
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a strong electrical system background
  • 5-10 years’ experience in a corporate / hospitality maintenance environment is essential
  • Data Centre experience is a must!
