Job Description


We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our team in Lonehill, Sandton. The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating, maintaining and updating technical documentation for business processes, software applications and technical procedures. This role involves close collaboration with developers, product managers and other stakeholders to ensure clear, concise and user-friendly documentation. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of business processes and business analysis skills will be considered an advantage.
 
Key Responsibilities:
    • Documentation Development: Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation that meets company standards and serves its intended audience.
    • Business Process Documentation: Document business processes, workflows and standard operating procedures to ensure clarity and consistency.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to gain a deep understanding of the products and document requirements.
    • Content Management: Develop, organise and maintain a comprehensive library of technical documentation.
    • User Guides & Manuals: Produce user guides, manuals and instructional materials to assist users in understanding and effectively using company products and processes.
    • Quality Assurance: Review and edit documentation to ensure clarity, correctness and adherence to company standards.
    • Process Improvement: Continuously refine and improve documentation by gathering feedback from users and stakeholders, implementing changes based on best practices.
 
 
 
Requirements:
Experience:
    • Proven experience as a Technical Writer, Technical Communicator, or in a similar role.
    • Experience documenting complex business processes and technical information.
    • Proficiency in using documentation tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and other relevant software.
    • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and content management systems (CMS).
 
Technical Skills:
    • Strong technical writing and editing skills.
    • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and explain them clearly in text and illustrations.
    • Knowledge of document formatting, layout and design principles.
