Safety Specialist
Job Description
Hire Resolve’s client, a construction company based in Cape Town, is currently seeking a knowledgeable Safety Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to upholding a safe work environment for all employees while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Provide training and support to staff on safety practices, emergency preparedness, and proper equipment usage.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare detailed reports, and track incident metrics.
- Work closely with management to ensure that health and safety protocols are communicated clearly and followed rigorously.
- Perform regular inspections of the workplace and equipment to ensure safety compliance.
- Maintain incident reports and safety documentation as required.
- Stay informed about industry trends and legislative changes related to workplace safety.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a safety role within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CIH) is a plus.
