The Wits School of Education invites applications for the position of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Foundation Phase Mathematics, Childhood Studies, and Life Skills. We seek a highly qualified individual with excellent academic credentials in teaching and research. The ideal candidate should possess attributes of adaptability and versatility to contribute to the Schools initial teacher education and postgraduate programmes, research initiatives, and community engagement activities. The successful candidate must meet the following criteria to be appointed: Lecturer Level Academic Qualifications PhD with a focus on either Foundation Phase Mathematics, Early Childhood Education, or a closely related field. Subject Matter Expertise Specialised expertise in the delivery of Foundation Phase Mathematics, Childhood Studies, and Foundation Phase Life Skills courses. Ability to integrate and synthesise content knowledge across Foundation Phase Mathematics, Childhood Studies, and Foundation Phase Life Skills courses. Curriculum Development and Implementation Demonstrated ability to contribute to curriculum innovation, design, and implementation of Foundation Phase Mathematics, Childhood Studies, and Foundation Phase Life Skills courses. Teaching Capabilities Experience in employing various delivery modes to ensure high-quality teaching, learning practices and student experiences. Proficiency in digital literacy and seamless integration of technology in teaching and research activities. Relevant Experience 5 years teaching experience in Foundation Phase and/or Early Childhood learning contexts. Experience in teaching in Higher Education (advantageous). Supervision of undergraduate students on Teaching Experience/Work Integrated Learning. Demonstrated research capability or potential, evidenced by publications in Mathematics or Early Childhood Education. Capacity to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students at tertiary level. The ability to work in a team. Senior Lecturer Academic Qualifications PhD with a focus on either Foundation Phase Mathematics, Early Childhood Education, or a closely related field. Subject Matter Expertise Comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of theoretical foundations in Mathematics, Childhood Studies, and Foundation Phase Life Skills Knowledge of recent trends and developments in initial teacher education.

A sustained record of supervision in Foundation Phase Mathematics, or Early Childhood Education. Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
