Requirements :

  • Diploma/Degree in nursing) that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse. An appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. An additional qualification in IPC is required. Experience in Infection, Prevention and Control. A valid driver’s licence. Good communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. Computer Literacy.

Duties :

  • Coordinate and ensure effective sustainable infection prevention and control programme within the district. Establish a system to monitor the implementation of Infection Prevention and Control policy guidelines by healthcare facilities in Sedibeng District Health and facilitate the review of existing protocols/SOPs. Establish and support the Infection Prevention and Control committees in healthcare facilities. Ensure Implementation of multimodal improvement strategies. Assist and support management to ensure that the quality management walkabout programmes. Provide support to improve compliance, implement improvement action plans, provide awareness/adherence to policies and work procedures. Comply with legislation & Bylaws relating to the portfolios. Investigate all Healthcare-Associated Infections. Review infection control practices in the facilities and simplify and streamline processes. Waste management operational functions. Facilitate and manage compliance of internal and external audits. Ensure staff receives structural and unstructured education and training on IPC to achieve compliance. Participate in the Provincial Policy Development. Mitigate risks through prevention & continuous improvement program. Monitor and publish measurement statistics
