Bookkeeper

A financial firm in George is urgently seeking a bookkeeper whom can start as soon as possible.

Requirements:

• Must be able to handle pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Must be a team-player
• Work without supervision
• Must be able to do books up to trial balance and be well-known to Tax.

Responsibilities:

• Record financial transactions:
  • Accurately enter daily financial transactions into accounting software.
  • Maintain records of receipts, invoices, payments, and other financial documentation.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable:
  • Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments.
  • Generate customer invoices and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Reconcile accounts:
  • Reconcile bank statements with the company’s ledger.
  • Ensure all discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
• Maintain general ledger:
  • Post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
  • Allocate expenses and income to appropriate accounts.
• Prepare financial statements:
  • Generate monthly financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
  • Assist in the preparation of management reports as required.
• Assist with payroll:
  • Record payroll transactions and ensure correct allocation to relevant accounts.
  • Handle payroll-related queries and issues.
• Support year-End processes:
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation for audits.
  • Ensure all financial records are up-to-date for year-end review.
• Maintain financial compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated on relevant financial regulations and standards.
• Trial Balance preparation:
  • Prepare trial balance reports to ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Identify and rectify any errors before finalizing the trial balance.

Salary: 
R15,000 basic
