Safety Officer – Mining

Description:
Hire Resolve’s client, a reputable mining company operating in the Northern Cape, is seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to join their mining team. As a Safety Officer in the mining industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of employees and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with mining industry regulations
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments
• Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
• Provide safety training and education to employees
• Investigate accidents and incidents, and develop strategies to prevent their recurrence
• Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations
• Maintain accurate safety records and documentation

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• National Diploma in Safety Management
• Any relevant Trade Test Certificate
• OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certificate
• SAMTRAC/COMSOC 1&2
• 5 years’ experience as a Safety Officer within the mining industry.
