Our client is seeking an experienced workshop foreman/master technician with a strong background in premium brand vehicles to join their team in the East Rand, Gauteng.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining the highest standards of vehicle maintenance and repair.
Key responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of technicians, ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery.
- Perform advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on premium brand vehicles.
- Oversee the workflow and productivity of the workshop, ensuring timely completion of jobs.
- Provide technical guidance and support to technicians, assisting with complex issues.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct regular training sessions to keep the team updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.
- Monitor and maintain workshop equipment, ensuring all tools are in good working condition.
- Collaborate with the service manager to develop and implement strategies for improving service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Manage parts inventory, ensuring the availability of necessary components for repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of all service and repair work performed.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns, providing exceptional customer service.
Qualifications:
- Motor Mechanic Trade Test Certificate
- Certified Master Technician with extensive experience in premium brand vehicles (e.g., BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, etc.).
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within an automotive workshop.
- Strong technical skills with the ability to perform advanced diagnostics and repairs.
- Excellent understanding of automotive technology and repair techniques.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team of technicians.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficient in using automotive diagnostic tools and software.
- Valid drivers licence with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training preferred.
