The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Architect to join our dynamic e-commerce team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems that support our e-commerce operations. This role requires a strategic thinker who can align technology solutions with business goals to enhance user experience, increase operational efficiency, and drive growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Architectural Design:

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance e-commerce systems and infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain system architecture diagrams, documentation, and technical specifications.
  • Architect, build and maintain databases in particular within the google cloud platform

System Integration:

  • Ensure seamless integration of various e-commerce components, including front-end and back-end systems, payment gateways, inventory management, CRM, and third-party services.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and product teams to align system integration with business requirements.
  • Architect, build and maintain API’s to interact with front end applications and backend services.

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural best practices and standards.
  • Conduct regular code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality and maintainability.

Performance Optimisation:

  • Identify and address system performance bottlenecks and scalability issues.
  • Implement caching, load balancing, and other performance optimisation techniques to enhance system efficiency.

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits, and respond to security incidents as needed.
  • Maintain and implement infrastructure performance and user management.

Innovation and Improvement:

  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to e-commerce.
  • Propose and implement innovative solutions to improve system functionality, user experience, and overall business performance.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Systems Architect, Solution Architect, or similar role in an e-commerce environment.
  • Extensive experience with e-commerce platforms and frontend and backend technologies (e.g., Magento, Shopify, WooCommerce, HTML, CSS, React, Angular) and related technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, PHP, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture, API design, DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
