Job Description
Are you a technically skilled leader with a passion for production optimisation? We’re seeking a dynamic Plant Supervisor for a Packaging Plant. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, this pivotal role demands expertise in overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the packaging plant.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining technical KPIs, optimising production processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. From supervising the team to optimising machinery and ensuring production targets are achieved.
Qualification & Experience Requirements:
- Matric and Recognised trade test with a minimum of NTC 4 as a Millwright
- 5 years of relevant experience in heavy industrial manufacturing
- Production experience
- SAP proficiency.
- Solid skills in computer literacy, business communications, and numeracy.
Key Performance Areas:
- Supervise the packaging plant operations and team members.
- Optimise packaging machines for efficient production output.
- Ensure daily production targets are met.
- Conduct stock reconciliation and compile production reports.
- Manage inventory accuracy and packaging material usage.
- Drive waste reduction initiatives and perform first-line maintenance.
- Proactively report and address production breakdowns.
- Support SHEQ initiatives and uphold safety standards.
- Conduct installation and maintenance tasks as required.
- Collaborate effectively as part of the Process Team.
