Qualifications At least a Masters degree in biostatistics, statistics or quantitative epidemiology. Requirements Evidence of teaching experience at postgraduate level At least one article in peer-reviewed journals. Student supervision at postgraduate level will be an added advantage. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team. Interest in and commitment to building research capacity. Responsibilities Teach biostatistics on the postgraduate (MSc, MPH, MMed, PhD) and short-course programmes within the Wits SPH Teach on the Faculty of Health Sciences statistics short courses as part of the research support to Faculty staff and post-graduate students. Provide statistical consultations to academic staff within the faculty. Co-ordinate biostatistics modules within the MSc programme Contribute to research supervision of postgraduate students within Wits SPH Actively develop and expand research programmes within the School and Faculty Actively participate in the academic endeavours of the school Remuneration The remuneration package offered will depend on qualifications and experience and is subject to the University of the Witwatersrand criteria.
