Buyer (3 Months Contract)

SALARY:

R11 500 per month

SUMMARY

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for driving success? Join our client as a Trade Support Coordinator! In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimum procurement and delivery of required goods and services with due consideration for timorousness, cost-effectiveness, the correctness of quantities, specification/quality and alignment to relevant policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Determine the type of goods and services required by the business units within the organisation.
  • Identify and select appropriate sources of supply, prepare requests for quotation documents and issue to market to ensure the best cost-effective solution.
  • Receive, verify and action approved purchase requisitions for the purchase of goods and services.
  • Generate a purchase order on the most viable quotation received.
  • Ensuring that goods and services are purchased according to the customers’ requirements, in line with the company’s policies and procedures and within the Total Cost of Ownership principles.
  • Prepare tender enquiry documents in line with the applicable conditions of the contract, issue to market and coordinate.
  • Effective expediting and ensuring that goods and services are received on schedule and according to the customer’s requirements.
  • Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
  • Identify critical spares and repetitive items to be coded as “inventory and NLAGs” and establish contracts.
  • Identify repetitive special purchases for contract coverage.
  • Attend to internal purchase requests within the agreed timelines.
  • Ensure compliance, adhere to all applicable health, safety and environmental policies and procedures, and align suppliers to our SHE requirements. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • National Diploma /Bachelor’s degree in Business/Commerce/Procurement/Supply Chain/Finance/Logistics/Purchasing or any other relevant qualification related to the position will be an advantage.
  • CIPS Qualifications will be an advantage.
  • Must have a National Certificate in Supply Chain / Purchasing / Logistics or similar.
  • Minimum of 3 years buying experience in a mining or large industrial environment.
  • Inventory buying experience for a large Warehouse will be an advantage.
  • Must have SAP MM or similar ERP system experience.
