Maintenance Manager

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance operations at our meat processing plant in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial maintenance and a proven track record of leading a team to ensure the uninterrupted operation of a production facility.

Responsibilities:
– Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program to ensure the effective operation of all plant equipment and machinery
– Manage a team of maintenance technicians, assigning duties and tasks as needed
– Monitor and maintain inventory levels of spare parts and supplies to support maintenance activities
– Troubleshoot and resolve any maintenance issues that may arise during production
– Coordinate with production and quality control teams to minimize downtime and ensure product quality
– Develop and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees
– Develop and maintain relationships with outside vendors and service providers for necessary repairs and maintenance services

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
– Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a meat processing facility
– Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
– Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
– Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
– Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards
– Proficient in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite
