Copywriter

Key purpose of the role

The incumbent will be responsible for conceptualising and scripting creative content and promos for Primedia Broadcasting platforms, including stations and digital platforms. They will write, develop, and manage script elements across all Primedia Broadcasting platforms

Conceptualisation, development, and business partnering

• Conceptualise, write, and produce all live, recorded, digital, station imaging, brand positioning and pitch creative scripts ensuring delivery of high-end, innovative concepts and scripts on time, according to brief
• Work closely with sound engineers in the studios to deliver promos and commercials
• Collaborate with online producers in the production of web content
• Collaborate with videographers in the production of video content
• Take part in brainstorming, status meetings, training sessions and staff meetings
• Develop and manage the execution of concepts across all platforms
• Direct voice-over artists, actors, and presenters in recordings

Educational qualifications

• Matric
• Degree or diploma preferable
• Formal and informal training to support the skills required

Required knowledge and experience

• Over five years writing experience necessary
• Traditional media or ad agency experience preferable
• Some radio copywriting experience required
• Film environment experience desirable
• Fluency in social media advantageous
