Accountant – Tax / Financial Statement Focus

An accounting firm in Knysna is looking for an accountant to join their team. 

This position will be hybrid and requires candidates to reside in the Garden Route area.

This role will be focused on assisting clients with compilations of financial statements and / or independent reviews of financial statements and income tax calculations

Responsibilities

• Receive trial balance and supporting documents from the client 
• Compile annual financial statements for companies and CCs based on IFRS for SMEs using Draftworx
• Understand Trusts and be able to compile Trust Annual Financial Statements
• Full function accounting knowledge
• Calculating & submitting VAT returns
• Knowledge of Payroll and submission of EMP201s and EMP501s

Requirements:

• Minimum five years accounting experience
• Previous working experience in an accounting firm
• BCOM degree
• Computer literate on Draftworx and Xero
• Experience in Greatsoft to process and manage all tax returns and keep record of time

Candidate skills:

• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Great communication skills (Afrikaans and English)
• Great time management and self-discipline
• Drivers licence
• Excellent planning and forecasting mindset

Salary:
R20,000 – R35,000
