Building Maintenance Handyman

Job Description:

Are you a hands-on problem solver with experience in building maintenance? We’re looking for a dedicated Building Maintenance Handyman. If you take pride in keeping a building functioning smoothly, this role might be perfect for you!

Key Responsibilities:

As a Building Maintenance Handyman, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, ensuring the integrity of the building is maintained.

These include:

• Painting, drywalling, and basic plumbing repairs
• Repairing door locks, windows, and fences
• Operating forklifts and scaffolding
• Roof leak repairs, signage fitting, and cleaning gutters
• Tarring, cementing, and tiling
• Office relocations and carpet repairs
• General cleaning and ensuring good housekeeping standards
• Adhering to safety legislation and completing job cards

Requirements:

Work Experience:

• At least 2 years of experience in building maintenance, services, or utilities
• Knowledge of water reticulation, plumbing, and basic carpentry
• A team player with the ability to work independently
• Good timekeeping and knowledge of plant safety
• Must have clear criminal and credit checks completed

Education:

• Matric (preferably)
• A building-related qualification or practical experience will be an advantage
