Solar Installation Electrician (IE)

Please Note: This position requires an individual who is a qualified IE to issue COC for Single Phase Solar Installations.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, solar technology and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to their clients.
 
Key responsibilities:

• Perform solar panel installations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and electrical codes.
• Issue Certificates of Compliance (COCs) for completed installations.
• Work on both single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair solar PV systems, including inverters, charge controllers and batteries.
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams to complete installations on time and within budget.
• Provide technical expertise and support to team members and clients regarding solar energy systems.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance and repairs.
• Conduct quality inspections and maintain accurate installation records.

Requirements: 

• Electrician Trade Test.
• Valid wireman’s license and must be registered as an Installation Electrician (IE)
• Must be able to issue Certificates of Compliance (COCs)
• Working experience as a solar installation electrician or in a similar role.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and architectural drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Physical stamina and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Valid drivers licence and clean driving record.
