Junior Supply Chain Specialist- Sandton
Job Description
The purpose of this role is to liaise with internal teams as well as suppliers and clients to procure competitive freight quotes for out-of-the-ordinary shipments that might come up within each of the business verticals. These quotes will consist of road, air and sea freight as well as staging warehouses and packaging solutions.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage both the supply chain email box and supply chain internal messaging handle through which inquiries are received
• Determine the most appropriate shipping process and provider based on the shipment specifications
• Capturing pricing data on our internal system or in other formats that may be required
• Updating all shared files with suppliers every morning
• Request freight quotes for all shipments: –
Greater than 1,000Kg
Project or rollout related
Complex or very urgent
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Honors Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics or equivalent
• 2-3 years experience is beneficial
