Job Summary:

As a lead generation agent your primary responsibility will be to make high- volume outbound calls to potential clients, introducing them to our Client’s insurance offerings. Your goal is to generate interest, qualify leads, and secure appointments for their sales consultants. This role is essential in supporting the sales pipeline by ensuring that the sales team has a steady flow of qualified prospects to engage with.

This position is ideal for motivated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven call centre environment. Success in this role will require excellent communication skills, persistence, and the ability to quickly build rapport over the phone.

Key responsibilities:

  • Make high-volume outbound calls daily to potential leads, primarily targeting individuals who have recently purchased properties.
  • Engage with prospects to generate interest in our Client’s insurance products.
  • Qualify leads by asking key questions and assessing their interest in, and need for, our insurance solutions.
  • Secure appointments for sales consultants by effectively communicating the benefits of our offerings and scheduling follow-ups.
  • Handle initial objections professionally and overcome barriers to booking appointments.
  • Use the CRM system to accurately document interactions, update lead information, and track progress
  • Consistently meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs related to outbound calls, lead qualification, and appointment bookings.
  • Work collaboratively with the sales team to ensure smooth transitions and effective handover of leads.
  • Stay informed about our insurance products, promotions, and the broader property and insurance market to better tailor pitches to prospects.

Required qualifications

  • Grade 12.
  • Tertiary education in the insurance / financial field will be an advantage.

Required experience

  • Prior experience in short-term and/or long-term insurance sales in a call centre environment is advantageous.
  • Proven experience as an outbound sales agent with a focus on cold calling is advantageous.
  • Proficient in objection handling and closing techniques.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings and weekends, when required.

Work conditions

  • Working hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday, but longer hours are frequently required.
  • May be required to work on Saturdays between 9:00 and 12:00 upon special request.
  • Must work 4 days per week in the Pretoria office
  • Must work at least one late shift, per week, from 10:00 to 19:00
