We have an amazing opportunity for a Surveillance Technician, to be based in Umhlanga, Durban. Do you think you have what it takes to be our newest Purple Star?

 

The Surveillance Technician will be responsible to layout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems, such as GSM systems, Access Control & CCTV, Card Readers, Request to Exit Buttons (REX), Motion Sensors, Maglocks, Electric Door Strikes, Access Control Panels, Analog & IP Cameras, Power Supplies, cable pathway systems, computer equipment, various electronic components, and various cables.

You Bring:

  • 3 – 5 years proven experience in the electrical/electronic mechanical fields.

A Bonus To Have:

  • 2 – 3 years technical Diploma or equivalent qualification in a technical field.

What You’ll Do For The Brand:

  • Performing problem correction, board and device component repairs.
  • Troubleshoot computer networking systems.
  • Performing preventive maintenance, system modifications and/or electronic upgrades.
  • Support of production team members imaging level on all imaging systems and related hardware and software.
  • Support Electrical, Mechanical Maintenance and Production Departments on all press electronic controls and ancillary equipment.
  • Installation and repairing of electrical systems.
  • Following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams and other specifications.
  • Using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
  • Installing various CCTV camera types both Analog & Digital IP systems, Control and Gsm systems.
  • Program Access Control Panels & System.
  • Install and Program DVR Recording Units.
  • Install cable pathway systems (cable trays, cable racks, J-hooks or D-rings).
  • Install, terminate, test, label and document horizontal, backbone and other cables.
  • Monitoring all Gsm system on the link.
  • Dress and route cable into closets and control rooms.
  • Ad hoc duties as required.
