Toolmaker

RPO Recruitment is actively looking for a skilled Toolmaker to join our client’s dynamic manufacturing team in Port Elizabeth. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, fabrication, and maintenance of tools and dies essential for efficient production processes. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining high standards of quality and operational efficiency within the manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities:

• Design, manufacture, and repair a variety of tools, jigs, and dies used in production.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop effective tooling solutions.
• Conduct regular maintenance checks and troubleshooting on existing tooling.
• Utilize CNC machinery and CAD software for precise tooling design and modifications.
• Implement quality control procedures to ensure that all tools and dies meet the required specifications.
• Maintain accurate documentation of tooling processes, modifications, and maintenance activities.
• Adhere to safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
• Continuous improvement of tools and processes to enhance production efficiency.

Requirements

• Trade Test Certificate in Toolmaking or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a Toolmaker.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and CNC machine operation.
• Strong knowledge of tool and die design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work with precision measuring instruments and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in the automotive or other manufacturing sectors is advantageous.
