Job Title: Electrical Engineering Manager – Mining Industry

Location: Gauteng Province, South Africa

RPO Recruitment’s client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to oversee the electrical engineering operations within their mining industry operations in Gauteng Province. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment to ensure efficient and safe mining operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement electrical engineering strategies and plans to support mining operations.
  • Manage a team of electrical engineers and technicians to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment to identify and address any issues or potential risks.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of electrical engineering plans with overall business objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to improve efficiency and productivity in electrical operations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety and quality standards and regulations.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance electrical system reliability and performance.

Requirements:

  • BSc degree/Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Government Certificate of Competency
  • Registered Professional Engineer (Pr Eng/Pr Tech Eng)
  • 15 years of proven heavy electrical experience
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the heavy engineering field
  • 5 years is solid project management related experience.
  • Specialist knowledge of Electrical Engineering and Project Management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and equipment used in mining operations.
