Operations Team Lead

The Role

We are looking for a Operations Team Lead to join our dynamic team in our Johannesburg office and help deliver a world class digital customer experience for our rapidly growing subscriber base. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team of fulfillment associates to ensure timely and accurate processing of orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and meeting productivity goals. The Operations Team Leader will also be involved in training and coaching team members, implementing process improvements, and fostering a positive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a team of fulfillment, warehouse and circular flow associates to achieve daily production targets and quality standards.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of customer orders, including picking, packing, and shipping and solving customer delivery queries via Zendesk.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels through Asset Panda and coordinate with the inventory control team to maintain accurate stock levels, pro-active provisioning as well as final quality and dispatch checks.
• Manage Circular Flow stock (refurbishment and redistribution of products), drop shipments and employee assets.
• Conduct daily morning and evening stock count and conduct manual ABM enrollment.
• Communicate with respective couriers regarding collections and deliveries.
• Train, coach, and mentor team members to improve performance and develop their skills.
• Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize workflow and efficiency.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
• Handle escalated customer inquiries or issues related to order fulfillment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as customer service and logistics, to ensure seamless order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
• Proven experience in a leadership role within a fulfillment or warehouse environment.
• Previous e-commerce fulfillment experience
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritise, and meet deadlines in a timely manner
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a focus on meeting deadlines and targets.
