What the job is: This is a chance to work as a Bosun on a Medium Freezer Vessel (MFV) for Oceana Group, Africa’s largest fishing company and global leader in seafood production. The role involves maintaining deck equipment, assisting with loading/unloading, and ensuring vessel operations run smoothly. What you will do: Supervise and assist with deck maintenance, including cranes, winches, and machinery. Help with loading/unloading fish and supplies, and ensure proper storage. Work closely with the captain and crew to complete tasks efficiently. What you need: Experience in fishing or deck operations is preferred but not mandatory. Must be physically fit, comfortable working in demanding conditions, and have good communication skills. Basic mechanical knowledge and adherence to safety rules are essential.
