This is a permanent position for a deckhand on the fishing vessel MFV Vegkop, part of Oceana Group Limited’s pelagic fleet operating from Laaiplek. The role involves bridge and deck duties, including maintaining a safe navigational watch, handling fishing nets, and operating hydraulic/electronic systems. Key responsibilities include net repairs, crew safety coordination, and assisting with vessel maintenance. The successful candidate must have at least 3 years of experience on purse seine fishing vessels, a valid SAMSA Medical Certificate, and STCW-F 11/4 qualifications. Additional requirements include a Restricted Radio License, Pre-Sea and Seamans Discharge Book, and valid Marine Fire Fighting/First Aid Certificates.
