This job is for a Distribution Centre Manager at Pedros Chicken in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal. You will be responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the distribution centre, ensuring smooth operations, and leading a team to meet business goals. Key responsibilities include managing daily activities (receiving goods, picking orders, meeting production targets), leading and supporting the distribution centre team (hiring, training, performance evaluation), handling inventory control (tracking stock, regular checks, accurate records), improving processes to save time and reduce waste, monitoring KPIs, and ensuring product quality and safety (checking products, following safety rules, training staff on safety procedures). Must have at least Matric as highest qualification (Bachelor’s degree preferred, especially in supply chain management or logistics). Requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or food production, with at least 3-5 years in management. Proven experience in inventory management, audits, meeting delivery targets, and budget management is essential. Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, cold chain requirements, and health and safety standards in high-volume food/FMCG distribution centres is mandatory. Strong leadership and team management skills required, along with a valid driver’s license.
