Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Sunninghill is looking for a Pharmacist Assistant who has completed their basic qualification. This is a fixed-term position where you will work as part of a pharmacy team. Your role will help you learn the key principles of pharmacy work while ensuring patients receive the right care and medicines. The job is based in Sunninghill, near Sandton in Gauteng.

What you will do:
- Assist pharmacists with daily tasks, including preparing and packing medicines according to prescriptions and pharmacy rules.
- Manage stock, including controlled medicines (Schedule 1 to Schedule 5), ensuring safe storage and handling.
- Interact with customers, explaining medication usage, answering health-related questions, and assisting with medical aid costs.
- Read and verify prescriptions, check patient details in the system, and ensure proper labeling and verification of medicines.
- Support repackaging, patient follow-ups, and operations at the self-medication counter and front shop.
- Work efficiently under pressure during peak hours.

Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) with at least 50% in Life Science or Physical Science.
- Basic qualification as a Pharmacist Assistant.
- Proficiency in English and another South African language.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
- South African citizenship with a clean criminal record.
- Valid medical examination (MIE) and driver’s license or reliable transport.
