Praesignis is looking for a Senior Feature and Data Analyst to work with a banking client. This role is based in Johannesburg, Gauteng, and involves supporting important Data and AI projects. You will use your skills in business analysis, feature analysis, and data analysis to turn business needs into practical solutions. The job is a contract position, lasting 12 months, and requires strong technical and communication skills.

What you will do:
- Collect and analyze business, functional, and data requirements to understand client needs.
- Create detailed features, user stories, and rules guiding system functionality.
- Write and run advanced SQL queries to explore and clean data, ensuring accuracy and usability.
- Work with AWS tools (Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Amazon Athena) to store, process, and analyze large datasets.
- Design data flows, track data movement, and ensure data reliability and quality.
- Document current and future processes, including data transformations.
- Assist with data migration from legacy systems, testing changes, and pre-launch validation.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, developers, and business teams to align on requirements and goals.

What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.
- 8+ years of experience, with 5+ years in business or feature analysis.
- Strong SQL skills (complex queries, data analysis).
- Hands-on AWS experience (data storage/processing).
- Agile methodologies and experience with large-scale data projects.
- Knowledge of data warehousing, system integration, APIs, and reporting tools (e.g., Jira).
- Bonus: Capital markets, trading systems, or financial products experience (forex, interest rates, equities).
