Job Description

What the job is: This job is for a Credit Controller based in Midrand, Gauteng. You will work for Fidelity Services Group, specifically in the Fidelity ADT division, which focuses on security and investigations. The role is full-time and involves managing collections to improve debt recovery, reduce overdue payments, and lower bad debt expenses.

What you will do: You will call customers who owe money to collect payments for overdue accounts. Every day, you will make a set number of calls to remind customers about their debts and encourage them to pay. You will record all calls and updates in a system called Listener, ensuring all details are accurate and complete.

You will also handle debit order resubmissions, verify customer information, and switch customers from paper statements to electronic ones. If customers promise to pay, you will follow up to make sure they keep their word. When necessary, you will send letters demanding payment or suspend services for accounts that remain unpaid after multiple attempts.

In addition, you will review daily reports to check if payments are correctly allocated to the right accounts. You will process requests for credit notes, refunds, and transfers, as well as reconcile accounts with credit balances. Your goal is to meet collection targets and keep bad debt levels low while maintaining professional and courteous communication with customers.

What you need: To apply, you must have a Matric certificate and a qualification in Credit Management or a related finance field. You need at least 2 to 3 years of experience in collections, preferably in a high-volume consumer environment. Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office and Excel, are required, along with some knowledge of LSN and SAP systems.

You must have excellent communication skills, both on the phone and in writing, and be able to handle difficult or upset customers professionally. Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work under pressure are essential. You should also be good at reconciling accounts and managing queries efficiently.

What you will get: This is a permanent full-time position with Fidelity Services Group, offering the chance to work in a structured and professional environment. While salary details are not provided, the role includes opportunities for career growth and development. The company supports diversity and encourages applications from historically disadvantaged individuals and black female candidates. If you do not hear back within 10 working days after the closing date, your application will be considered unsuccessful.
