This job is for an IT Security Specialist at the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications, based in Pretoria. The role focuses on protecting the organization’s computer systems, networks, and data from threats, both from outside and inside the company.

Key Responsibilities:
- Identify risks and potential security threats, including weaknesses in systems, networks, and applications.
- Implement strong security measures to protect information systems.
- Conduct regular security checks, both internally and with external experts.
- Train employees on cybersecurity best practices and handle security incidents.
- Lead response efforts during major cybersecurity issues.
- Maintain IT infrastructure, ensuring systems are up-to-date and functional.
- Develop and update security policies aligned with ISO27001, NIST, and COBIT frameworks.

Requirements:
- National Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (NQF Level 6).
- Recognized security certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or ethical hacking).
- Minimum 5 years of IT security experience.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity threats, risk management, and incident handling.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting networks, cybersecurity best practices, and managing business applications.
- Ability to write and follow ICT policies, and work with frameworks like ISO27001, NIST, and COBIT.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
