Media24 is looking for a Senior Sub-Editor to work in their Afrikaans Media division, specifically at the Netwerk24 office. This role is based in Cape Town, Western Cape, but may also be filled in Johannesburg, Pretoria, or Bloemfontein. As a Senior Sub-Editor, your main tasks will include carefully editing written content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and proper language use. You will check facts, spelling, and grammar to maintain correctness. You will also write engaging headlines and subheadlines that are attention-grabbing and factually accurate. Another key responsibility is ensuring all content follows the publication’s style guidelines.

Requirements include a relevant tertiary qualification in journalism, languages, communication, media studies, or the humanities. Strong language and writing skills in Afrikaans are essential, along with 8-10 years of relevant journalism experience. The role requires a good understanding of current affairs and broad general knowledge, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
